Pinafly (“we”, “us”) provides a browser extension and web app that freeze web pages into hosted snapshots and let you add numbered feedback pins. This policy explains what the extension and app collect, and how we use it.
What the extension captures
The extension captures a page only when you click the Pinafly icon on it.
When you do, it serializes that single tab’s content — its HTML and images, which are
re-encoded to WebP — and sends it to your Pinafly account at pinafly.com to create a
snapshot. No video or audio is ever captured. The extension captures
nothing unless you click, and only the tab you clicked (it uses Chrome’s
activeTab permission, not access to all your sites).
Account information
To link the extension to your account, we store a Pinafly capture token locally in your browser. Signing in uses your email address; if you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile picture to create your account. We do not read any other Google data.
How we use your data
We use captured pages and account data solely to provide Pinafly’s snapshot and feedback features — storing your snapshots, showing your pins, and delivering feedback to your inbox. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Retention & deletion
Snapshots are retained according to your plan, and you can delete any snapshot at any time from your Pinafly account. Removing the extension deletes the capture token stored in your browser.
